THE KNOWING OF TRUTH
1 John 2:21
I write to you not because you are ignorant and do not perceive and know the Truth, but because you do perceive and know it, and [know positively] that nothing false (no deception, no lie) is of the Truth. AMP
As believers we “know” that our Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the person of the Holy Spirit all exist in (abide in) the spiritual realm of absolute “truth”. I used the words "know" and “truth” on purpose to help you understand that the things (words, thoughts, dreams, visions, voices, beings, etc) that come from the spiritual realm of God predominately centers around this "knowing of truth". When following God's direction for your life you must see God's characteristics in the things (words, thoughts, dreams, visions, voices, beings, etc….) that you are following. What we mean by that is when something comes from God it will have “truth” and the “knowing” combined.
John 8:31-32
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.KJV
We can ascertain “truth” by following God's holy written word.
John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.KJV
When you compare what you hear in your heart or see with your spiritual eyes to the exact words, principles and/or precepts you find in the Holy Bible you are wise. The Word of God is truth according to John 17:17 and the only thing that keeps you steady in your understanding of “truth” is context. Therefore, observe the context and the duplication of the context in other scriptures to certify the Word of God in your heart.
Isaiah 28:9-10
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: KJV
2 Corinthians 13:1
This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. KJV
We must be willing to be diligent in the things of God to be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might. We stated before that each disciple of Christ must have “truth” and the “knowing” to establish God's Will (including information and direction) for their life. The “truth” is found in the word of God and the “knowing” must exist for everything else including the Word of God. Typically, a true believer in Christ Jesus has no problem believing the Holy Bible is “truth” because they “know” God’s Word is holy and divine. The point is the “knowing” of God is inherent in the Word of God. However, for a believer to be confident about things they are doing without exact scripture support they must possess this “knowing”.
1 John 2:20
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. KJV
Some things people do without exact scripture support would include where to live, the right spouse, which car to buy, which job to choose, etc.... Since this is generally a little bit more challenging the Christian must be willing to spend the extra time necessary to assure their witness (their knowing). Reading your Holy Bible, specifically the promises surrounding your situation, keeps you informed about "truth". Whereas, praying and listening to God while walking in the Spirit of Love keeps you more sensitive to the “knowing” of God ( which is the witness of God). Every Christian has to rely upon this witness of the Holy Spirit inside of their reborn spirit to properly identify God's direction for their life.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. KJV
Big decisions and little decisions work the same way the unction (the knowing) will bear witness in your heart when God is inspiring you or confirming your decision. Yes, this process is consistent and provable if you are willing to be patient while waiting for the results. For example; which house to buy is not clearly indicated in the Holy Bible, but you do have certain principles in the Holy Bible that proclaim God's Will for people to have their own home. Therefore, the Believer has a foundation to build upon based on the Word of God. The Saint should then find scriptures that relate to following God's Wisdom and thank God daily that He orders their steps.
Psalm 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. KJV
After that the Believer must be willing to follow the other things in the Holy Bible which speak about proper attitude and motive. If they can remain humble and sensitive they assuredly will receive information from God to order their steps until they reach a house that will meet their needs and satisfy their heart. Yes, I know some people believe God will give them whatever house they desire even when it cost way over their budget, but we (ihlcc) do not believe in purchasing any asset beyond your current level of income. We have seen far too many people that have done this and it hurt their future by over extending their current debt. Even with good intentions (motive) and faith one could miss God's blessing of peace and financial security if they over extend their level of income.
Luke 14:28-30
28For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
30Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.KJV
The Word of God gives us the frame work of “truth” in which to live while the “knowing” confirms within us God's Will for everything in this life. Yes, the “knowing” will confirm which part of God's Word is appropriate to use at certain times in your life and it will also confirm which house, apartment or condo you should buy. Remember, the Lord gave you the Holy Spirit to help guide you into all truth, therefore He is your personal Counselor whenever you commune with Him.
John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.KJV
You do God a favor when you acknowledge Him in all your ways because it is already His will to have intimate fellowship with you. The Lord is much more pleased with us asking too many questions in simplicity of thought then too few because of pride and assumptions. The witness of God's “knowing” has peace and assurance within it to help you discern God's heart but we have to be looking for it or relying upon it for a guaranteed manifestation. Yes, there will be times when the witness (knowing) just seems to come upon you without any effort of your own (known as God's grace) but we can confidently say that there will be other times when you must purpose to wait upon it (seek it, look for it) to bring it into manifestation.
Psalm 145:15-19
15 The eyes of all wait for You [looking, watching, and expecting] and You give them their food in due season.
16 You open Your hand and satisfy every living thing with favor.
17 The Lord is [rigidly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works.
18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desires of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them. AMP
The truths of God are timeless so when you implement these two power principles into your walk with God your efficiency with following God's Will for your life will be greatly increase. The Lord is not trying to keep His Will a mystery we just need to be acquainted with His Ways. There is only One who can produce “truth”, and there is only One who can produce the “knowing” of God, and that same One is your Heavenly Father God. The combination of the “knowing” and “truth” will produce God’s peace as a by-product of following God’s Will for your life. Therefore, remain in God's “Truth” by obeying His Written Covenant and walking in the Ways of God's Love which center around “knowing” God’s Heart. If you practice these two things as a lifestyle you will be spiritually sharper and fruitfully productive for the Kingdom of God in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
